Why I'm Running
Meet Nolan Southerland

I’m Nolan. I’m a father, community organizer, entertainment union member, and Burbank resident for over a decade. I’ve organized with tenants, led work protecting our immigrant neighbors, and engaged the city on issues from transit to policing. What I’m not is a career politician. I’m running because members of my community asked me to represent our interests in City Hall.
Where I Stand On
The Issues
I am committed to making Burbank affordable and welcome to all! I’m running to stabilize rents, protect immigrant families, invest in young people, and make City Hall answer to residents instead of wealthy special interests.
I stand for:
- Affordable housing with rent control and tenant protections
- Welcoming immigrants and fighting ICE
- Better buses and bicycle infrastructure
- Better jobs with unions and raising the minimum wage
- Supporting families by providing childcare and programs
- Protecting the environment and supporting community gardens
- Ending mass surveillance and funding mental health services
